Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me here: for God did send me before you to preserve life.


But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.


Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them unto your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.


And the king said, What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD has said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Why have you done so?


And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.


And Satan stood up against Israel, and incited David to number Israel.


And the sons of Tola; Uzzi, and Rephaiah, and Jeriel, and Jahmai, and Ibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father’s house, namely, of Tola: they were valiant men of might in their generations; whose number was in the days of David two and twenty thousand and six hundred.


All these were the children of Asher, heads of their fathers’ house, choice and mighty men of valor, chief of the princes. And the number throughout the genealogy of them that were fit to go to war and to battle was twenty and six thousand men.


But Hezekiah returned not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.


And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.


And if the prophet is deceived when he has spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.


Therefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments by which they should not live;


And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest you die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD has kindled.


As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.


To do whatsoever your hand and your counsel determined before to be done.


And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:


And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of plunderers that plundered them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.


And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because this people has transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;


Now therefore, I pray you, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD has stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.
