And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at evening he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.


And king Rehoboam made in their place bronze shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house.


And it was so, when the king went into the house of the LORD, that the guard bore them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.


There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
