30 And Hoshea the son of Elah led a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and struck him down, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and struck him down before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.


But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and struck him down in Samaria, in the palace of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his stead.


In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and captured Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.


And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.


In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.


In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.


At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him.


For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that you dread shall be forsaken by both her kings.


Because this people refused the waters of Shiloah that flow softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;


So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.


For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then could a king do for us?


As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water.
