But Rab-shakeh said unto them, Has my master sent me to your master, and to you, to speak these words? has he not sent me to the men who sit on the wall, that they may eat and drink their own waste with you?


Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.


Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.


Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, On what do you trust, that you remain in the siege in Jerusalem?


Has not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, You shall worship before one altar, and burn incense upon it?


Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you in this way, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?


He trusted in the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.


Many there be who say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.


As with a sword in my bones, my enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is your God?


Saying, God has forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.


But Rabshakeh said, Has my master sent me to your master and to you to speak these words? has he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat and drink their own waste with you?


Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us. Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?


He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
