And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.


And Joab sent to Tekoah, and brought from there a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray you, pretend to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not yourself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:


And these were the sons of the father of Etam; Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash: and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi:


And their villages were, Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities:


And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah.


And Beth-zur, and Soco, and Adullam,


And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall you be established; believe his prophets, so shall you prosper.


After them the Tekoites repaired another section, opposite the great tower that lies out, even unto the wall of Ophel.


And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.


O you children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a signal of fire in Beth-haccherem: for evil appears out of the north, and great destruction.
