And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared himself chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.


Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.


And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

Now therefore hearken unto their voice: however protest solemnly unto them, and show them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
