1 Samuel 2:8 - King James 2000

8 He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the rubbish, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he has set the world upon them.

Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his clothes, and came in unto Pharaoh.


You shall be over my house, and according unto your word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than you.


Now therefore so shall you say unto my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:


Since I exalted you out of the dust, and made you ruler over my people Israel; and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;


And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.


And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there: the LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.


And he took himself a potsherd to scrape himself with; and he sat down among the ashes.


Of old have you laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of your hands.


Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever.


Yet sets he the poor on high from affliction, and makes their families like a flock.


For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.


The earth and all inhabitants are dissolved: I hold up the pillars of it. Selah.


I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:


But God is the judge: he puts down one, and sets up another.


For out of prison he comes to reign; yet he that is born in his kingdom might become poor.


And I will fasten him as a peg in a sure place; and he shall become a glorious throne to his father's house.


Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.


This sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the decision by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will, and sets up over it the lowliest of men.


Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.


Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;


Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to them that love him?


And has made us a kingdom and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.


And there shall be no night there; and they need no lamp, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign forever and ever.


To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.


And have made us unto our God a kingdom and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.


And Samuel said, When you were little in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed you king over Israel?
