He arose, and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand stuck to the sword: and the LORD brought about a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to plunder.


And they set themselves in the midst of that plot, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.


And the three broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD,


And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.


My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget your law.


Yea, let none that wait on you be ashamed: let them be ashamed who transgress without cause.


They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: they that would destroy me, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.


They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.


And Moses said unto the people, Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will show to you today: for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall see them again no more forever.


But know you for certain, that if you put me to death, you shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon its inhabitants: for of a truth the LORD has sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.


When Pilate saw that he could gain nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see you to it.


Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see you to that.


But this comes to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.


But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.


Because for the work of Christ he was near unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.


How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;


And when I saw that you delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: why then are you come up unto me this day, to fight against me?


(For my father fought for you, and risked his life, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian:


And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for today the LORD has wrought salvation in Israel.


And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as the LORD lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he has worked with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, so that he died not.


And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul swore, As the LORD lives, he shall not be slain.


And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Why shall he be slain? what has he done?


Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all your servants as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and goes at your bidding, and is honorable in your house?


And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was greatly troubled, and said unto him, Behold, your handmaid has obeyed your voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto your words which you spoke unto me.
