A man's heart plans his way: but the LORD directs his steps.


The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turns it wherever he will.


And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus you shall speak.


And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in its tents according to its tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.


Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out demons? and in your name done many wonderful works?


And this spoke he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;


And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.


And when they came there to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.


And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?


And the spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you shall prophesy with them, and shall be turned into another man.


And it came to pass the next day, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand.


So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.


And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.


Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Secu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.
