And she said, Oh my lord, as your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman that stood by you here, praying unto the LORD.


And the name of Saul’s wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the commander of his army was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul’s uncle.


And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and of a beautiful countenance, and handsome. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.


And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armor in his tent.


And the king said, Inquire whose son the stripling is.


And Saul said to him, Whose son are you, young man? And David answered, I am the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.


And David arose, and came to the place where Saul had encamped: and David beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his army: and Saul lay within the camp, and the people encamped round about him.
