And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD heeded supplications for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.


And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.


Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.


Say not, I will repay evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save you.


The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind?


To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.


He that kills an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog's neck; he that offers a grain offering, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burns incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.


But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his dwelling place shall you seek, and there you shall come:


And there you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vowed offerings, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:


And Saul said unto Ahijah, Bring here the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.
