Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.


The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: your mercy, O LORD, endures forever: forsake not the works of your own hands.


Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.


Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.


This people have I formed for myself; they shall show forth my praise.


Even everyone that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.


My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: because before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, have I done no wrong.


And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into your hands I commend my spirit: and having said this, he gave up the spirit.


And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.


To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:


For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.


For so is the will of God, that with well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:


For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.


Who formerly were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, by which a few, that is, eight souls were saved through water.
