And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in which you go, then shall you bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.


It shall come to pass, when he sees that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and your servants shall bring down the gray hairs of your servant our father with sorrow to the grave.


Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.


And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed continually as he came.


And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.


Do therefore according to your wisdom, and let not his gray head go down to the grave in peace.


Behold, I have done according to your words: lo, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like unto you.


And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do justice.


I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that you will not hold me innocent.


You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.


For that is his only covering, it is his clothing for his skin: in what shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he cries unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.


You shall not revile God, nor curse the ruler of your people.


But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
