The man, who is the lord of the land, spoke roughly to us, and took us for spies of the country.


And Joseph saw his brothers, and he knew them, but made himself unknown unto them, and spoke roughly unto them; and he said unto them, from where do you come? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.


And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than you: why then did you despise us, since our advice was first in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.


So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.


And spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.


And Pharaoh said unto him, Get you from me, take heed to yourself, see my face no more; for in that day you see my face you shall die.


And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.


The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.


The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse.


He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.


A soft answer turns away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.


The poor uses entreaties; but the rich answers roughly.


The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow him up.


And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labor in which I have labored, and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.


But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.


Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what if your father answers you roughly?
