A righteous man regards the life of his animal: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.


He that oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker: but he that honors him has mercy on the poor.


He that has pity upon the poor lends unto the LORD; and that which he has given will he pay him again.


Whosoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.


He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.


He answered and said unto them, He that has two coats, let him impart to him that has none; and he that has food, let him do likewise.


For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich.


But to do good and to share forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.


If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,


And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; yet you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?


If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?


Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and everyone that loves him that begat loves him also that is begotten of him.
