And Adam knew his wife again; and she bore a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, has appointed me another child instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.


And Absalom spoke unto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.


The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes upon him with his teeth.


They also that render evil for good are my adversaries; because I follow the thing that is good.


Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but which is able to stand before jealousy?


The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his good.


An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.


When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the way side.


The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;


That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you slew between the temple and the altar.


And the governor said, Why, what evil has he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.


But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these comes from evil.


From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.


Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do you stone me?


But now you seek to kill me, a man that has told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.


You do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.


Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them who showed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom you have been now the betrayers and murderers:


For you, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for you also have suffered the same things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:


By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaks.


And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel.


In which they think it strange that you run not with them to the same excess of dissipation, speaking evil of you:


He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.


Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.


And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great wonder.
