And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.


Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Kenaan shall melt away.


There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith YY .


And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Yisrael had done to the Amorites.


And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Bilam, and spake unto him the words of Balak.


I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Yaakov, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Yisrael, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.


And, behold, one of the children of Yisrael came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moshe, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Yisrael, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.


And YY spake unto Moshe, saying,


And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Bilam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.


And now art thou any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive against Yisrael, or did he ever fight against them,


And the children of Yisrael did evil in the sight of YY : and YY delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.
