So Benaiah the son of Yhoyada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.


Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than Yochanan the Immerser: notwithstanding he that is least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he.


And as they departed, Y'shuw`a began to say unto the multitudes concerning Yochanan, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?


And they said, Some say that thou art Yochanan the Immerser: some, Eliyahu; and others, Yirmeyahu, or one of the prophets.


For Yochanan came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.


Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:


And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of Elohim is at hand: repent ye, and believe the good news.


As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.


And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;


And when the messengers of Yochanan were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning Yochanan, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?


Beginning from the immersion of Yochanan, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.


And now, behold, YY hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since YY spake this word unto Moshe, while the children of Yisrael wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.


And the children of the Keni, Moshe' father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Yhudah into the wilderness of Yhudah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
