And Y'howshu`a said, Alas, O YY Elohim, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Yarden, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to Elohim we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Yarden!


And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.


And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto YY , and I cannot go back.

Then all the children of Yisrael, and all the people, went up, and came unto the house of Elohim, and wept, and sat there before YY , and fasted that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before YY .


And the people came to the house of Elohim, and abode there till even before Elohim, and lifted up their voices, and wept sore;


And there ran a man of Binyamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent, and with earth upon his head.
