And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Givon.


And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Binyamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Binyamin.


And Baasha king of Yisrael went up against Yhudah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Yhudah.


That YY appeared to Shlomo the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Givon.


And at Givon dwelt the father of Givon; whose wife's name was Maachah:


The children of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred twenty and one.


They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Givah of Saul is fled.


For YY shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Givon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.


Thus saith YY ; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.


When the even was come, there came a rich man of Ramatayim, named Yosef, who also himself was Y'shuw`a's talmid:


That they feared greatly, because Givon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.


And ZaNoach, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam,


And Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:


And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,


And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city TZor; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:


And out of the tribe of Binyamin, Givon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,


And he brought the family of Yhudah; and he took the family of the Zarhites: and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:


And the children of Yisrael journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Givon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kiryat-Yearim.


And when the inhabitants of Givon heard what Y'howshu`a had done unto Yericho and to Ai,


And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside hither into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Yisrael; we will pass over to Givah.


And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Givah, or in Ramah.


Now there was a certain man of Ramathaimzophim, of mount Efrayim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite:


And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before YY , and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and YY remembered her.
