And when Shkhem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.


And his brethren went to feed their father's flock in Shkhem.


And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hevron, and he came to Shkhem.


And Rechavam went to Shkhem: for all Yisrael were come to Shkhem to make him king.


Then Yarovam built Shkhem in mount Efrayim, and dwelt therein; and went out from thence, and built Penuel.


And they gave unto them, of the cities of refuge, Shkhem in mount Efrayim with her suburbs; they gave also Gezer with her suburbs,


Elohim hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shkhem, and mete out the valley of Sukkot.


Because the daughters of Mnasheh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Mnasheh's sons had the land of Gilad.


Now Mnasheh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Mnasheh belonged to the children of Efrayim;


And they appointed Kedesh in Galil in mount Naftali, and Shkhem in mount Efrayim, and Kiryat-Arba, which is Hevron, in the mountain of Yhudah.


For they gave them Shkhem with her suburbs in mount Efrayim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,


And Y'howshu`a gathered all the tribes of Yisrael to Shkhem, and called for the elders of Yisrael, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before Elohim.


And the bones of Yosef, which the children of Yisrael brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shkhem, in a parcel of ground which Yaakov bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shkhem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Yosef.


And Abimelech the son of Yerubaal went to Shkhem unto his mother's brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,
