And David said to Abishai, Now shall Shva the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Avshalom: take thou thy YY 's servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.


And the king of Yisrael went out, and smote the horses and chariots, and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter.


And AbiYAH and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Yisrael five hundred thousand chosen men.


Declare ye in Yhudah, and publish in Yerushalayim; and say, Blow ye the shofar in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.


Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for YY our Elohim hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against YY .


But of the cities of these people, which YY thy Elohim doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:


And YY discomfited them before Yisrael, and slew them with a great slaughter at Givon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.


And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for YY your Elohim hath delivered them into your hand.


And all the people returned to the camp to Y'howshu`a at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Yisrael.


And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Y'howshu`a take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moshe the servant of YY Commanded.


And YY delivered them into the hand of Yisrael, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.


And it came to pass, when Yisrael had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased them, and when they were all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, that all the Yisraelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the edge of the sword.
