And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.


Ye are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?


And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? Elohim do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Yoav.


And he bowed the heart of all the men of Yhudah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants.


And the men of Yisrael answered the men of Yhudah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Yhudah were fiercer than the words of the men of Yisrael.


And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the sepulchre of his father, which was in Bethlehem. And Yoav and his men went all night, and they came to Hevron at break of day.


For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.


Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom YY thy Elohim shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shkhem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Yerubaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.
