And when Yaakov saw them, he said, This is Elohim's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.


And Avshalom and all the men of Yisrael said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For YY had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that YY might bring evil upon Avshalom.


But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;


Then spake Y'howshu`a to YY in the day when YY delivered up the Amorites before the children of Yisrael, and he said in the sight of Yisrael, Sun, stand thou still upon Givon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.


That they feared greatly, because Givon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.


Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Givon: for it hath made peace with Y'howshu`a and with the children of Yisrael.


And when the inhabitants of Givon heard what Y'howshu`a had done unto Yericho and to Ai,


If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
