And Yosef placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.


And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.


Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which YY thy Elohim giveth thee.


But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before Elohim.


Then the Spirit of YY came upon Yiftach, and he passed over Gilad, and Mnasheh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilad, and from Mizpeh of Gilad he passed over unto the children of Ammon.


Moreover Rut the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.


And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Oved: he is the father of Yishai, the father of David.


So Saul took the kingdom over Yisrael, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Plishtim: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed them.


And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.


And he brought them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the hold.


And Shmuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is YY : let him do what seemeth him good.
