Then Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about what happened. But go and let the priest look at you. And offer the gift that Moses commanded for people who are made well. This will show everyone that you are healed.”


But Jesus gave the spirits a strong warning not to tell anyone who he was.


Jesus gave the father and mother very strict orders not to tell people about this. Then he told them to give the girl some food to eat.


As soon as Jesus did this, the man was able to hear. He was able to use his tongue, and he began to speak clearly.


They were all completely amazed. They said, “Look at what he has done. It’s all good. He makes deaf people able to hear and gives a new voice to people who could not talk.”


Jesus told him to go home. He said, “Don’t go into the town.”


As Jesus and the followers were walking back down the mountain, he gave them these instructions: “Don’t tell anyone about what you saw on the mountain. Wait until after the Son of Man rises from death. Then you can tell people what you saw.”
