Then the king asked, “And where is Mephibosheth?” Ziba answered the king, “Mephibosheth is staying in Jerusalem. He said, ‘Today the Israelites will give my father’s kingdom back to me.’”


Then the king said to Ziba, “All right, I now give you everything that belonged to Mephibosheth.” Ziba said, “I bow to you. I pray I will always be able to please you.”


The king said to Mephibosheth, “Don’t say anything more about your problems. This is what I have decided: You and Ziba will divide the land.”


Mephibosheth said to the king, “My lord and king, it is enough that you have come home in peace. Let Ziba have the land.”


But a good leader plans good things to do, and that will make him a leader over other leaders.


Kish was an important man from the tribe of Benjamin. He was the son of Abiel. Abiel was the son of Zeror. Zeror was the son of Becorath. Becorath was the son of Aphiah, a man from Benjamin.
