But the former governors who were before me were chargeable to the people, and took of them bread and wine, besides forty shekels of silver; yes, even their servants bore rule over the people: but I didn't do so, because of the fear of God.


If a ruler listens to lies, all of his officials are wicked.


As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and grew rich.


*Indeed they don't know to do right,* says the LORD, *Who hoard plunder and loot in their palaces.*


Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech.


I said, *What is it?* He said, *This is the efah basket that is appearing.* He said moreover, *This is their appearance in all the land


But when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Sha'ul and Sila, and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.
