Cheshbon cries out with El`aleh. Their voice is heard even to Yahatz. Therefore the armed men of Mo'av cry aloud. Their souls tremble within them.


Behold, their valiant ones cry outside; the ambassadors of shalom weep bitterly.


A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that renders recompense to his enemies.


and look to the earth, and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will will be driven into thick darkness.


A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the principal of the flock! for the LORD lays waste their pasture.


Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Ya`akov's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.


Why have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and have fled apace, and don't look back: terror is on every side, says the LORD.


Keriyot is taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Mo'av at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.


Tell them therefore, Thus says the Lord GOD: I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Yisra'el; but tell them, The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision.


For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near; it shall be a day of clouds, a time of the nations.

The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.


Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.


For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the chief angel, and with God's shofar. The dead in Messiah will rise first,


whose voice shook the earth then, but now he has promised, saying, *Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heavens.*


Don't grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won't be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.


In covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words: whose sentence now from of old doesn't linger, and their destruction will not slumber.
