The LORD has made everything for its own end-- yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.


Should an axe brag against him who chops with it? Should a saw exalt itself above him who saws with it? As if a rod should lift those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up someone who is not wood.


Woe to him who strives with his Maker--a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, *What are you making?* or your work, *He has no hands?*


But now, LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you our potter; and we all are the work of your hand.


Is this man Konyahu a despised broken vessel? is he a vessel in which none delights? why are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into the land which they don't know?


Yisra'el is swallowed up. Now they are among the nations like a worthless thing.


But the Lord said to him, *Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Yisra'el.


For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls,


So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires.


But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, *Why did you make me like this?*
