Now the men of Sedom were exceedingly wicked and sinners against the LORD.


The LORD said, *Because the cry of Sedom and `Amorah is great, and because their sin is very grievous,


Come, let's make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve our father's seed.*


Thus both of Lot's daughters were with child by their father.


But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sedom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter.


The thing which he did was evil in the sight of the LORD, and he killed him also.


`Er, Yehudah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD. The LORD killed him.


The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.


The LORD smelled the sweet savor. The LORD said in his heart, *I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, because the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again strike everything living, as I have done.


Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.


For the law works wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.


The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.


We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn't love his brother remains in death.


Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
