He will say, Cast up, cast up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.


Therefore thus says the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people; and the fathers and the sons together shall stumble against them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish.


Again, when a righteous man does turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because you have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at your hand.


Because they ministered to them before their idols, and became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Yisra'el; therefore have I lifted up my hand against them, says the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity.


Now, behold, I go to my people: come, [and] I will advertise you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.


Behold, these caused the children of Yisra'el, through the counsel of Bil`am, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Pe`or, and so the plague was among the congregation of the LORD.


They killed the kings of Midyan with the rest of their slain: Evi, and Rekem, and Tzur, and Chur, and Reva, the five kings of Midyan: Bil`am also the son of Be'or they killed with the sword.


*Woe to the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must be that the occasions come, but woe to that person through whom the occasion comes!


that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.*


But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written our decision that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from food offered to idols, from blood, from strangled things, and from sexual immorality.*


David says, *Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.


Therefore let's not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother's way, or an occasion for falling.

Then Balak the son of Tzippor, king of Mo'av, arose and fought against Yisra'el: and he sent and called Bil`am the son of Be'or to curse you;


and, *a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.* For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.


forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Bil`am the son of Be'or, who loved the wages of wrong-doing;


Woe to them! For they went in the way of Kayin, and ran riotously in the error of Bil`am for hire, and perished in Korach's rebellion.


But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Izevel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.


But I have this against you, that you left your first love.


But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.*


Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
