*God will not withdraw his anger. The helpers of Rachav stoop under him.


By the rivers of Bavel, there we sat down. Yes, we wept, when we remembered Tziyon.


The daughter of Tzor comes with a gift. The rich among the people entreat your favor.


Princes shall come out of Egypt. Kush shall hurry to stretch out her hands to God.


You have broken Rachav in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.


The princes of Tzo`an are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counselors of Par`oh has become stupid. How do you say to Par`oh, *I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?*


Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of the LORD; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn't it you who did cut Rachav in pieces, who pierced the monster?


behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says the LORD, and [I will send] to Nevukhadnetzar 1 the king of Bavel, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants of it, and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.


Son of man, tell the prince of Tzor, Thus says the Lord GOD: Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet you are man, and not God, though you did set your heart as the heart of God--


The king spoke and said, Is not this great Bavel, which I have built for the royal dwelling place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?


He arose and went; and behold, there was a man of Kush, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Kushim, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Yerushalayim to worship.


And on her forehead a name was written, *MYSTERY, BAVEL THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.*


He cried with a mighty voice, saying, *Fallen, fallen is Bavel the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird!


He stood and cried to the armies of Yisra'el, and said to them, Why are you come out to set your battle in array? am I not a Pelishti, and you servants to Sha'ul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
