He erected an altar there, and called it El-Elohe-Yisra'el.


For strangers have risen up against me. Violent men have sought after my soul. They haven't set God before them. Selah.


Let death come suddenly on them. Let them go down alive into She'ol. For wickedness is in their dwelling, in the midst of them.


Let the congregation of the peoples surround you. Rule over them on high.


LORD God Tzeva'ot, How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?


LORD, God Tzeva'ot, hear my prayer. Listen, God of Ya`akov. Selah.


The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made. In the net which they hid, their own foot is taken.


you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,


God said moreover to Moshe, *You shall tell the children of Yisra'el this, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov, has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.


Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sedom! Listen to the law of our God, you people of `Amorah!


When its boughs are withered, they will be broken off. The women will come and set them on fire, for they are a people of no understanding. Therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them, and he who formed them will show them no favor.

Are you not like the children of the Kushim to me, children of Yisra'el?* says the LORD. *Haven't I brought up Yisra'el out of the land of Egypt, and the Pelishtim from Kaftor, and the Syrians from Kir?


But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Yisra'el, that are of Yisra'el.


For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
