For the arrows of the Almighty are within me. My spirit drinks up their poison. The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.


For you will make them turn their back, when you aim drawn bows at their face.


For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer. Selah.


Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am faint. LORD, heal me, for my bones are troubled.


But God will shoot at them. They will be suddenly struck down with an arrow.


He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.


Moreover the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed.


would you therefore wait until they were grown? would you therefore stay from having husbands? nay, my daughters, for it grieves me much for your sakes, for the hand of the LORD is gone forth against me.
