Yo'av said to the man who told him, Behold, you saw it, and why didn't you strike him there to the ground? and I would have given you ten [pieces of] silver, and a sash.


Aviner said again to `Asa'el, Turn you aside from following me: why should I strike you to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Yo'av your brother?


Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need. deliver me from my persecutors, For they are stronger than me.


Let those who seek after my soul be disappointed and brought to dishonor. Let those who plot my ruin be turned back and confounded.


For strangers have risen up against me. Violent men have sought after my soul. They haven't set God before them. Selah.


let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it; yes, let him tread my life down to the earth, and lay my glory in the dust. Selah.


Arise, LORD, in your anger. Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries. Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.


He has made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.


Then he said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Yisra'el: behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.


Don't rejoice against me, my enemy. When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.
