The LORD preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.


Who remembered us in our low estate; for his loving kindness endures forever;


For the enemy pursues my soul. He has struck my life down to the ground. He has made me live in dark places, as those who have been long dead.


Hurry to answer me, LORD. My spirit fails. Don't hide your face from me, so that I don't become like those who go down into the pit.


He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were too mighty for me.


I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.


But my enemies are vigorous and many. Those who hate me without reason are numerous.


Therefore we won't be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;


For, behold, they lie in wait for my soul. The mighty gather themselves together against me, not for my disobedience, nor for my sin, LORD.


Don't hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us. Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, for we are in desperate need.


I will say of the LORD, *He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.*


Who could bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who justifies.


No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.


After whom is the king of Yisra'el come out? after whom do you pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea.
