The sons of Ya`akov answered Shekhem and Chamor his father with deceit, and spoke, because he had defiled Dinah their sister,


Then said Avshalom, If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us. The king said to him, Why should he go with you?


But Avshalom pressed him, and he let Amnon and all the king's sons go with him.


Yo'av said to `Amasa, Is it well with you, my brother? Yo'av took `Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.

If he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers iniquity to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.


He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool.


A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but accurate weights are his delight.


He who is truthful testifies honestly, but a false witness lies.


Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy comes to the promoters of shalom.


The thoughts of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.


The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.


for as he thinks about the cost, so he is. *Eat and drink!* he says to you, but his heart is not with you.


Take you heed everyone of his neighbor, and don't you trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go about with slanders.
