It happened after this, that Avshalom prepared him a chariot and horses, and fifty men to run before him.


Then Adoniyahu the son of Chaggit exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.


Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.


The beginning of strife is like breaching a dam, therefore stop contention before quarreling breaks out.


Before destruction the heart of man is proud, but before honor is humility.


Prepare your work outside, and get your fields ready. Afterwards, build your house.


If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man, the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no shalom.


For I am afraid that by any means, when I come, I might find you not the way I want to, and that I might be found by you as you don't desire; that by any means there would be strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, whisperings, proud thoughts, riots;


for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God.
