He rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two handmaids, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford of the Yabbok.


Moreover you gave them kingdoms and peoples, which you did allot after their portions: so they possessed the land of Sichon, even the land of the king of Cheshbon, and the land of `Og king of Bashan.


Sichon king of the Amori; for his loving kindness endures forever;


Yet I destroyed the Amori before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.


From there they traveled, and encamped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness, that comes out of the border of the Amori: for the Arnon is the border of Mo'av, between Mo'av and the Amori.


after he had struck Sichon the king of the Amori, who lived in Cheshbon, and `Og the king of Bashan, who lived in `Ashtarot, at Edre`i.


When you came to this place, Sichon the king of Cheshbon, and `Og the king of Bashan, came out against us to battle, and we struck them:

and all that he did to the two kings of the Amori, who were beyond the Yarden, to Sichon king of Cheshbon, and to `Og king of Bashan, who was at `Ashtarot.


The LORD said to the children of Yisra'el, Didn't I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amori, from the children of `Ammon, and from the Pelishtim?


The king of the children of `Ammon answered to the messengers of Yiftach, Because Yisra'el took away my land, when he came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even to the Yabbok, and to the Yarden: now therefore restore those [lands] again peaceably.


They said, What one is there of the tribes of Yisra'el who didn't come up to the LORD to Mitzpah? Behold, there came none to the camp from Yavesh-Gil`ad to the assembly.
