One who had escaped came and told Avram, the Hebrew. Now he lived by the oaks of Mamre, the Amori, brother of Eshkol, and brother of `Aner; and these were allies of Avram.


That place was called the valley of Eshkol, because of the cluster which the children of Yisra'el cut down from there.


For when they went up to the valley of Eshkol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Yisra'el, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.


a land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive trees and honey;
