The king called for Yehoiada the chief, and said to him, Why haven't you required of the Levites to bring in out of Yehudah and out of Yerushalayim the tax of Moshe the servant of the LORD, and of the assembly of Yisra'el, for the tent of the testimony?


As for the Levites, in the days of Elyashiv, Yoiada, and Yochanan, and Yaddua, there were recorded the heads of fathers' [houses]; also the Kohanim, in the reign of Daryavesh the Parsian.


All Yisra'el in the days of Zerubbavel, and in the days of Nechemyah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, as every day required: and they set apart [that which was] for the Levites; and the Levites set apart [that which was] for the sons of Aharon.


Moreover the Levites: Yeshua, Binnui, Kadmi'el, Sherevyah, Yehudah, [and] Mattanyah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brothers.


I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the day of Shabbat. Remember to me, my God, this also, and spare me according to the greatness of your loving kindness.


had prepared for him a great chamber, where before they laid the meal offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, which were given by mitzvah to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the wave offerings for the Kohanim.

He gave to Moshe, when he finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, stone tablets, written with God's finger.


This is the amount of material used for the tent, even the Tent of the Testimony, as they were counted, according to the mitzvah of Moshe, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Itamar, the son of Aharon the Kohen.


But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Yisra'el: and the Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.*


The Kehati set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and [the others] did set up the tent against their coming.


Moshe laid up the rods before the LORD in the tent of the testimony.


You shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar; that there be wrath no more on the children of Yisra'el.


*Then the tent of meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps. As they encamp, so shall they set out, every man in his place, by their standards.


Moshe lifted up his hand, and struck the rock with his rod twice: and water came forth abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock.


*When Aharon and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary, and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp moves forward; after that, the sons of Kehat shall come to carry it: but they shall not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kehat in the Tent of Meeting.


from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all who enter into the service, to do the work in the Tent of Meeting.


I have given the Levites as a gift to Aharon and to his sons from among the children of Yisra'el, to do the service of the children of Yisra'el in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Yisra'el; that there be no plague among the children of Yisra'el, when the children of Yisra'el come near to the sanctuary.*


Thus did Moshe, and Aharon, and all the congregation of the children of Yisra'el, to the Levites. According to all that the LORD commanded Moshe concerning the Levites, so the children of Yisra'el did to them.


After that, the Levites went in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting before Aharon, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moshe concerning the Levites, so they did to them.


After these things I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.
