It happened, when David was come to Machanayim, that Shovi the son of Nachash of Rabbah of the children of `Ammon, and Makhir the son of `Ammi'el of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gil`adite of Roglim,


But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gil`adite, and let them be of those who eat at your table; for so they came to me when I fled from Avshalom your brother.


Kotz became the father of `Anuv, and Tzovevah, and the families of Acharchel the son of Harum.


Next to them repaired Meremot the son of Uriyah, the son of Hakkotz. Next to them repaired Meshullam the son of Berekhyah, the son of Meshezav'el. Next to them repaired Tzadok the son of Ba`anah.


The children of Delayah, the children of Toviyah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred forty-two.


These sought their register [among] those who were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found: therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood.
