He said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the children of `Ammon be too strong for you, then I will help you.


I said to the nobles, and to the rulers and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated on the wall, one far from another:


So we worked in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning until the stars appeared.


The LORD will fight for you, and you shall be still.*


He took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, *Let's flee from the face of Yisra'el, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians!*


Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.


The LORD your God who goes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,


for the LORD your God is he who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.


You shall not fear them; for the LORD your God, he it is who fights for you.
