Now the rest of the acts of Chizkiyahu, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and brought water into the city, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yehudah?


The son of Shammai was Ma`on; and Ma`on was the father of Beit-Tzur.


Beit-Tzur, and Sokho, and `Adullam,


They buried him in his own tombs, which he had hewn out for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds [of spices] prepared by the perfumers' art: and they made a very great burning for him.


Then I went on to the spring gate and to the king's pool: but there was no place for the animal that was under me to pass.


Next to him repaired Shallum the son of Hallochesh, the ruler of half the district of Yerushalayim, he and his daughters.


The dung gate repaired Malkiyah the son of Rechav, the ruler of the district of Beit-Hakkerem; he built it, and set up the doors of it, the bolts of it, and the bars of it.


After him repaired the Levites, Rechum the son of Bani. Next to him repaired Chashavyah, the ruler of half the district of Ke`ilah, for his district.


Next to them repaired Refayah the son of Chur, the ruler of half the district of Yerushalayim.


I made myself pools of water, to water from it the forest where trees were reared.


Behold, it is Shlomo's carriage! Sixty mighty men are around it, of the mighty men of Yisra'el.


You also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you didn't look to him who had done this, neither did you have respect for him who purposed it long ago.


You saw the breaches of the city of David, that they were many; and you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

*Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
