Yeho'ash king of Yisra'el took Amatzyah king of Yehudah, the son of Yeho'ash the son of Achazyah, at Beit-Shemesh, and came to Yerushalayim, and broke down the wall of Yerushalayim from the gate of Efrayim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.


So stood the two companies of those who gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me;


Then Elyashiv the Kohen Gadol rose up with his brothers the Kohanim, and they built the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even to the tower of Hammeah they sanctified it, to the tower of Chanan'el.


Palal the son of Uzai [repaired] over against the turning [of the wall], and the tower that stands out from the upper house of the king, which is by the court of the guard. After him Pedayahu the son of Par`osh [repaired].


The fish gate did the sons of Sena'ah build; they laid the beams of it, and set up the doors of it, the bolts of it, and the bars of it.


The old gate repaired Yoiada the son of Pase'ach and Meshullam the son of Besodyah; they laid the beams of it, and set up the doors of it, and the bolts of it, and the bars of it.


So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, everyone on the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the broad place of the water gate, and in the broad place of the gate of Efrayim.


Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Chanan'el to the gate of the corner.


Now at that time the king of Bavel's army was besieging Yerushalayim; and Yirmeyahu the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Yehudah's house.


In that day, says the LORD, there will be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.


Now in Yerushalayim by the sheep gate, there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, *Beit-Chesed,* having five porches.
