Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Yisra'el bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there not be one small stone found there.


At the end of three years they took it: in the sixth year of Chizkiyahu, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Yisra'el, Shomron was taken.


It happened in the fourth year of king Chizkiyahu, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Yisra'el, that Shalman'eser king of Ashur came up against Shomron, and besieged it.


Haven't you heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it of ancient times? now have I brought it to pass, that it should be yours to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.


The burden of Damascus: *Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.


He has brought the high fortress of your walls down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.


For you have made a city into a heap, a fortified city into a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city. It will never be built.


Again shall you plant vineyards on the mountains of Shomron; the planters shall plant, and shall enjoy [the fruit of it].


Behold, I am against you, destroying mountain, says the LORD, which destroys all the earth; and I will stretch out my hand on you, and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burnt mountain.

*The Lord GOD has sworn by himself,* says the LORD, the God Tzeva'ot: *I abhor the pride of Ya`akov, and detest his fortresses. Therefore I will deliver up the city with all that is in it.


Therefore Tziyon for your sake will be plowed like a field, and Yerushalayim will become heaps of rubble, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest.


You went forth for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the land of wickedness. You stripped them head to foot. Selah.


But he answered them, *Don't you see all of these things? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.*
