It is time to act, LORD, for they break your law.


My zeal wears me out, because my enemies ignore your words.


How do you say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsely.


My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no Kohen to me. Because you have forgotten your God's law, I will also forget your children.


But you say, 'Whoever may tell his father or his mother, *Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,*


You hypocrites! Well did Yeshaiyahu prophesy of you, saying,


making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this.*


Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! No, we establish the law.


If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don't let the assembly be burdened; that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.


But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
