Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Yisra'el, [and] his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of the LORD who is faithful, [even] the Holy One of Yisra'el, who has chosen you.


He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we didn't respect him.


He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Yisra'el, he will be a trap and a snare for the inhabitants of Yerushalayim.


Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.*


He didn't do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.


He went out from there. He came into his own country, and his talmidim followed him.


King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, *Yochanan the immerser has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.*


Isn't this the carpenter, the son of Miriam, and brother of Ya`akov, Yosi, Yehudah, and Shim`on? Aren't his sisters here with us?* They were offended at him.


Yeshua said to them, *A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.*


He said, *Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.


Blessed is he who is not offended by me.*


For Yeshua himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.


They said, *Isn't this Yeshua, the son of Yosef, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, 'I have come down out of heaven?'*


But Yeshua knowing in himself that his talmidim murmured at this, said to them, *Does this cause you to stumble?
