For you, God, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.


He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.


I will make with them a covenant of shalom, and will cause evil animals to cease out of the land; and they shall dwell securely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.


Moreover I will make a covenant of shalom with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore.


When Pinechas, the son of El`azar, the son of Aharon the Kohen, saw it, he rose up from the midst of the congregation, and took a spear in his hand;


and he went after the man of Yisra'el into the pavilion, and thrust both of them through, the man of Yisra'el, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stayed from the children of Yisra'el.


*Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Yisra'el, and the livestock of the Levites instead of their livestock; and the Levites shall be mine. I am the LORD.


*After that, the Levites shall go in to do the service of the Tent of Meeting: and you shall cleanse them, and offer them as a wave offering.
